I have completed a small yet important improvement to the voice of the S5mt monitor by way of new network component values.
The same Mark II circuit topology remains intact. The improvement lies primarily in the upper midrange, as well as a slight “richening” of the tonal balance. The monitor still works best when combined with a BESL subwoofer and active crossover.
This monitor was already receiving very favorable reviews, and I expect the new version to be even better.
I am getting a demo pair ready soon. These will have vent and 3-position treble contour options; simply to aid the auditioner to slightly change the frequency extremes to his liking.
