Interesting development.

Since I STILL have not listened to those speakers... it is a non issue for me, but a fun read.

Not sure I am onside for some of the description though...

Rish and powerful bass

11cm wood cone woofer which plays natural concave sound

Too bad I am such a fan of the "convex" sound, or I would be IN!

Oh, I apologize to Richard, I owe him some feedback on the built in tuner in this unit, now that it is in situ in my new house.

The EX-A1 is in the basement of my home, an unfinished space of around 30x30.  It is perched on a stand around 3 feet above the floor, and not far from a window, but still well below ground level.

I am able to, using the stock cheesy antenna, pull in all the stations that I get on the main floor, using the baby brother FS-X1, AND many stations that I cannot pick up, with the ground floor unit.

Now, I am not a heavy user of tuners, and don't really know how to share more - the net of it is, that the built in tuner sounds decent, and pulls in stations well in my basement.  That is all I can ask of it!

The long awaited Felicia balanced power unit is in the mail, heading for my new house, so I will share how that does or does not improve things, in due time.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your attention to the FM tuner in your new JVC...

Both Deb and I work at home...we play music throughout
the day...and evening as well...no TV!

FM is a marvelous resource of music that is not necessarily in
my rather basic music CD collection...also different versions of
classical pieces that I have, but have never heard "interpreted"
by a particular group...

Of course FM can be assailed by commercials if not listening to
Public Radio or College Radio stations...my favorite by far...

But a great wealth of new material there and a chance to hear things
you would never think to purchase simply because you have not been
exposed to it...and are not even necessarily aware it exists...

The best LP's and CD's can never have the exciting life of a live
concert broadcast on FM...quite exhilarating!!!!

Here in Ojai classical stations do not come in well...they need a bit
of help...so a good tuner could help in that regard...

I grew up with radio...I dreamed my outrageous dreams of adolescence
with radio playing through me...tubes of course...that is what all radios
were driven by back them...sweet really...

I wonder how many lives have been saved listening to radio late into the night...
beyond the reach of reason and what in the day passes for reality...

Warm regards -Richard-
