I used to have a preamp that was tube rectified (6X5) with a pair of either 6SN7 or 12SN7 (switchable) tubes for output.
I always purchased NOS matched pairs from Brent Jessee.
Some were used sparingly while some were used for longer periods of time.

For example, one pair I hardly used is a nice pair of "Chrome Domes"(?):







Total pairs: three 6SN7, two 12SN7, 12SX7, 6SL7; and two individual 6X5.

Anyway, I'd like to discuss off-line with someone about what to do with these.

Plenty of tube guys out here. Most of what I repair is tube gear. Saying that, I have BAGS of 6SN7 tubes and that's after I sold about 50 in bulk. The rest of the tubes listed just aren't that common anymore.

As tube guys, many of our tubes aren't worth selling, so we just stockpile them. It's sort of wasteful, to be honest.

This gives me a business idea -- how about setting up a side hustle where people "donate" their tubes. A website catalogs the tubes, tests them, and puts them online. In return, "members" who contributed a certain dollar value (at least $100?) can demo tubes for a small fee (say $10 admin fee plus shipping). If they want to keep them, they can buy them at a super discounted price. Non-members pay more. The donor gets a cut of the sale. In addition, tube suppliers and manufacturers can offer demos, there's a forum for tube reviews and tube gear, videos, image gallery, etc.

The challenge would be establishing a system to track and store thousands of tubes.

These last two rectifiers Raytheon and RCA are great tubes when new.

Agree. I only mostly bought excellent sounding and performing tubes, and always from Brent Jessee, and always per his expert guidance.
