I may have hastened the demise of my BS Vault 2i by using it for PC backup duties. Internet wisdom points to the power supply and possibly the drive. The Vault has become somewhat redundant so it's not worth the several hundred or more that it will cost to fix but it is worth the time and parts to try and fix it myself.
The two caps with black dots next to the wire harness are puffed up. The others look normal but I only know as much as Gemini is willing to share. (Gemini did provide excellent instructions how to set up the Vault as a backup, then confirmed in detail all the reasons why using it was a really bad idea 🤦)
Any advice on how to proceed and where to source caps, solder and any other recommended changes would be greatly appreciated.
Recommendations for a moderately priced soldering station would also be very helpful.
