FIIO Warmer R2R Tube DAC

Purchased off Amazon for $349.99
Connected via COAX and set at NOS for now. After listening to the DAC fresh out of the box this thing sounds incredible to me.
It is very smooth and relaxed compared to my old Schitt Modi+. The Warmer plays smoother, wider, softer around the edges, less bassy, with more rounded notes. The Modi is more harsh, edgier and brighter sounding. Not a fair comparison since the R2R is twice what I paid for the Modi.
Will listen switching between NOS (No Over Sampling) to OS (Over Sampling) and see which I prefer.

It's an incredible price for what you get  :thumb:  Let us know how things go, especially with oversampling mode and possible tube upgrades aimed toward increasing resolution a bit.  Stock JJ E88CC's are nice but my precious CCa's are shaking in their boots..

Off-topic: What are the front feet under your amp and are they a currently available commercial product? They remind me of the old AudioPrism Iso-Bearings. Also, congrats on the Fiio Warmer DAC. I've been quite tempted to get one of these.

Thx, John

John, under my amp are called Iso-Cup w/Lampblack Ball purchased many years ago from Herbiesaudiolab.
I just checked the web site and only the Balls are available. The Iso-cup has been discontinued.

This is not really a "Tube DAC". The tube is a buffer, not a gain stage.  A tube buffer can be added to almost any sand output stage DAC.   That being said, if it sounds good, it sounds good. A well implemented buffer can cure some of the solid state digital ills.
