Are there any alternative remotes for the BR-20
« on: 20 Jun 2026, 11:09 am »
Hi all. I'm finding the supplied remote inconvenient to use. Does anyone know of any good alternatives out there. I did a Google search but it seems like universal remotes are a thing of the past. The ones that claim to be universal seem to only do TVs and AV systems.
The SofaBaton looks like it might work. Has anyone used it with the BR-20?

Have you investigated this option?  $198.00 at Bryston.

Hi Amdan, I use these programmable remotes with my Bryston gear.  They are very light and easy to operate. I’ve used them with the B60 and SP1.7

On the SP1.7 I use the channel up and down buttons to select my two most often used inputs; tv and music streamer.  When playing LPs or CDs I’m up anyway loading a disc.

Aliexpress has them at a ridiculously low price and you can usually get free shipping too.

There is Logitech's Harmony Remote but it has gotten pretty spendy.  I seem to remember mine was a skosh over a C note, 10 or 12 years ago.  But you can use them for so many devices.

Unfortunately, the last I heard (several years ago now), Logitech has decided to stop manufacturing and supporting them. Too bad, because it had a function-driven programming system, rather than being device-driven. I haven’t found an equivalent programmable, universal remote system. I am hoping that my seven rear-old system never dies.

Thanks. I have tried to get info on it but a Google search does not return anything useful.

I have one but as Logitech is not supporting it, I don't have a way to program it.

Thanks. Unfortunately it does not have enough buttons for my needs.

Here is another learning remote with more buttons, and can do two devices.
