Stumbled across this home theater layout configurator while going down an Atmos rabbit hole. Thought some folks here might find it useful.

Atmos can certainly be a rabbit hole. I did a lot of Atmos research. The ceiling height will determine the speaker type, Atmos sounds best with 9-10 ft high ceilings otherwise you may get a one speaker spotlight effect instead of 4 speaker surround sound.

My 7.1.4 setup has a few small changes since 2020: a bigger REL sub and a nicer reclining leather sofa. Power has increased to 1890 watts, all high current class AB. Power is the key to a dramatic home theater experience.
