Thanks for your input maty. I’m not one for eq except a little in the sub bass region. Once I fed enough information into AI everything worked out great. I learned things to try that I wouldn’t have thought of myself. The sound I have now is amazing, It always sounded good but you don’t know how much  better you can get it unless you keep trying. The speakers are extremely important, but the room set up is also very important, without tweaking the room with treatments you’ll never hear the potential.

Issues affecting my sound, the 60” TV 15” of the wall was doing more harm than I thought. Putting absorption panels directly behind the tv and the QRD panels along side really improved the vocals definition, body, tonality and depth improved quite a bit. Imaging and soundstage improved from that change plus placement of the polyfusers at the first reflection point angled 20 degrees in towards the listening position . And 2D QRD panels directly to the side of the speakers helped also.

For better bass I moved the subs back (the are laying parallel instead of the more common method) more and slightly toed out towards the walls. Also added easy to do DIY bass traps directly behind the subs and QRD panels against the wall as recommended by AI. This significantly improved the bass quality and punch.

The bass traps are basically just 4 sheets of 3” thick safe and sound rockwool rapped in 1mil thick garbage bags.

I have used Gemini and Co-Pilot to dial in the PCM and DSD filters on both of my dacs and it was spot on for the warmer sound that I prefer without losing air and transparency.   I was shocked at the improvement.  Same for the settings in Audirvana.

I never thought about asking AI about my room setup but I did ask it about my audio gear synergy.. I only have access to Google AI but it said that I put a great system together and gave plenty of details.. I also asked if some up coming headphone and amp purchases I'm planing on buying and AI told me to go ahead with my planed purchases would work well together.. I even tried to add gear to the mix that I thought wouldn't be desirable to see if AI would catch it.. It said the match I added wouldn't be the best option.. I guess I'll have to try room dimensions next. I find it to be an interesting tool to use to have some fun..

I somehow lost the tab I had going with AI. I was working with it for few days and all the information I gave was lost. I was still working on the bass improvements and the next step was to tell what changes the added bass traps did. And it was going to give further tips on fine tuning the sound. I guess I can start a new conversation and see how that goes.

The cool thing is it doesn’t cost anything but your time, and it’s actually fun especially when you get improved sound quality.
