GR Research Home Theater Setups

I was looking at the NX-Ottica center channel and that thing sure does look cool with the speaker stand.  I have a pair of Ottica's and that would be awesome between them.  I would probably have to stretch my room another 5 ft to make it happen.    If you have a nice setup for movies I sure would like to here about it.

I incorporated the NX-otica center into my theater.  Flanked by a pair of Oticas left and right.  It is a game changer.  The action/vocals now come from the movie screen instead of being focused from a box on the floor in front.  When I Jam out to live concerts the clarity and spaciousness of the performance leaves me in awe almost every time I listen.  Currently I have a pair of the double troubles tied to the oticas and three rythmik sealed servo 15’s around the room.  The Otica center is HUGE for the size of my theater and there are some non ideal issues with it “squeezed” into the space but the sonic benefit far out weighs those minor issues.  The Otica center replaced a very large Statement 2 center and makes that old speaker look small in comparison.  Upon completion and installation, my wifes reaction was “what in the hell is that massive speaker?”.  Then I turned it on and played Sarah McLachlan story tellers dvd.  All she said then was “Wow”.

I was at GR Research and seen the center stand and speaker cabinet without the drivers.  It was just the bones of it.  It was impressive looking.  I can only imagine what that brings to the table.  Do you have any subs hooked to the center channel?  I don't even think it would matter actually but just asking.  Are you running any surrounds?  What kind of AVR do you have?  What size is your room?  I wish my room was about 3 ft wider.

No subs on the center.  No room for 12s under it.  Maybe if there was an open baffle 10” or 8” set Danny had it would work.  AVR is the Emotiva RMC-1+.  Surround height and surround backs with a second pair of surround height side speakers coming next.  Room is roughly 16’ wide by 21’ deep.  Basically the entire room walls and ceiling and corners are sound treatment.  Absorbers and quadratic diffusers.

Your room is actually larger than mine.  I purchased the Ottica's knowing they are too big for the room but maybe moving into another home soon.  The NX-Bravo's look seem like they would be great for surround.  You would also have an awesome set of speakers if you needed to split it up.
