Good Morning everyone from Canton Michigan. I wanted to say it’s been Many years senc. I last posted here in my late 20’s. Am 50now and boy have ai learned a lot of chasing the holy grail of a speaker system.
My newest project is I got a pair of Fostex FE164 Drivers and they have been send out for testing and new surrounds on them and new terminals that are soldered to the wires that go from the voice coil to the positive and negative hook up terminals. I am going through Midwest speaker repair (nice guys). (I use to go through new foam but, I think they went out of business). I will be making a book shelf box with a slanted port through the speaker stand. It was in audio express years ago. I will also be modifying the speakers with phase plugs and damping the metal frames and putting some kind of damping on the back of the magnet as well. I like full range drivers because where I lack in hearing the midrange the full range drivers sound makes sure I can hear it. I was born with a hearing problem and I have tendinitis ring of the ears all my life. Funny if it wasn’t for me stumbling upon Madisound years ago when (Larry owened it) I would have not fond my go to speaker. It works for me and not everyone else can enjoy these types of drivers like I can. This is a little bit about me. Be Blessed. Jeff

Welcome to the AC Jeff!

I'm a DIY speaker designer/builder too (https://jazzman-esl-page.blogspot.com/) and it's a pleasure to welcome you here.

I encourage you to share any photos of your speaker build.  There's isn't a DIY Circle on the AC but you could post your build photos in the Enclosure Circle.

Enjoy the AC!

Hello FullrangeMan,

This is Jazzman53 (a.k.a. Charlie) but I'm having a problem logging in as Jazzman53 so, in order to respond I had to create a new user account under user name Statman72.  I've posted a help message about the login problem (error message: "user name does not exist") and I'm awaiting a response.

That aside, I think the AC could benefit from having a DIY Circle, and I open to facilitating it but first I need to resolve the aforementioned login problem and regain access under my original user name; "Jazzman53".

Hi Charlie,
I saw that you posted a help request on 05April at Login Help Circle.
Unfortunately I have no clearance to see your login name or change your email.

But I could suggest you:
1) Dont use your screen name, if you have one, use your real user name.

2) I discovered through experience that the AC system doesn't accept the user name pre-filled by the browser or password manager. I have to type the user name at the time of login.
When I attempt to login under my historical user name (Jazzman53) I'm getting this error message:  "user name does not exist".

Not realizing that I could post a message here without being logged in, I unwisely created a new account under a new user name (Chaz1953), in order to post a help message.

I want to delete the new user account (Chaz1953) and fix the login problem with my original user account (user name: Jazzman53).

When I attempted to include my original user name in this post; I got this error message:

Please advise how to fix this.

Thanks,

Statman72

Is there an AC Administrator I can contact with system authority to resolve my login problem?
