Newbie Audiophile

Hey my name is Peet and I've always been interested in the world of sound equipment. Grew up with HiFi at home and later on started doing live sound mixing at church an learned quite alot. Recently bought an old Arcam AVR 400 and started going down the rabbit hole that is audiophile world - I've been sucked in and don't know where it will end.

Anyway - just thought I'd say hi.

Yes it's a fine line to move from audiophile prodigy to certified audiophile. Going down the Rabbit Hole for me began when I purchased a used power amp for my Paradigm Studio 100 v2. I had tried a few receivers I had on hand to get them to sound decent but they still sounded like @$$. With the power amp my jaw hit the floor! I finally had bass and it hit hard.
Before this, I never would have spent big bucks on equipment. This however was the start of much more spending to come and years of critical listening to achieve a kick ass system that I would make me proud. I haven't had the need to upgrade for over ten years.

Welcome aboard!  Just remember while you’re burrowing to occasionally come up for air.
