I am in looking for a preamp to work with Eversolo T8 streamer, Gustard R26 Dac and class A Power Amp. Would like to buy a second hand one if possible. I have found an ad for a Bent Audio Tap X. Seller is selling it for his dad and says it is about 15 years old. Initailly I was thinking of used Benchmark preamplifier or Holo Audio Serene. I have no idea how the sound quality and performance of the Bent Tap X may compare to current preamps. Any advice is welcome.
Is this unit worth buying.? Price is 2500 Australia dollars
Any idea of what is the normal sale price for one of these units?
How long would it last?
If it needs new parts are parts still available?
I have a contact who can build me a preamplifier. With a number of circuit designs on forums such as DIYAUDIO, are there any recommendations for a quality great sounding design/kits I should also consider?
I listen to Mark Knopfler, Chris Jones, Eagles, Classical, Celtic, Celion Dion, Lady Gaga, Chris Rea, Jethro Tull, 70 and 80 Rock, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd
