Moving Kismet floorstanders to too small space - Foam Inserts in rear port?

Hi There - Due to life requirements, I am planning to move my Kismet Ref floorstanders to a small room oddly shaped with a 5th angled wall, an open hallway exiting the room, and two other doors in the space with a low 81" ceiling.  If the fifth wall wasn't in place, it'd be roughly 10.5'x11'.  Not an ideal set up at all, really.

I'm wondering due to the 'monitor' style build of the floorstanders, if I were to plug the rear ports with foam inserts, and listen in a near field config, do you think this could work with decently tight bass and not overcharging the small space.....or am I just truly jousting at windmills with an impossible situation?

Note these Kismets are 42" tall as opposed to the 45" standard model, and sit on Mapleshade footers on Butcher Blocks, on some Herbies gliders, so fairly isolated.

Appreciate any input!
Thank you

As always...CALL ME  !!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have a standard setup in such a small room,  you will undoubtedly overload it...however,  I'm preaching near-field for decades,  and the more severe the environment,  the more severe your setup should be...

I'm talking ..like 6-8 feet apart and 75  / 25 %  equations....

Meaning that if the tweeters are 8 " apart,  then your ears to the tweeter should be 75 % of that tweeter to tweeter distance..approximately   6 feet.

Adjust the toe in accordingly and absolutely,  100 % make sure that your listening chair is neither against the wall nor has a high back,  meaning that your head is above the back of the chair in height.........

This formula then not only improves the soundstaging window amazingly,  but also takes the room acoustics out of the equation big time.....until you decide to go nuts that is............

Just a note. The full near field set up as Klaus described is the bomb!  Couple that with the foam port plugs and I am getting the best sound I've had in my rooms.  Missing a slight bit of bass fill, but I think what I am missing is what was not supposed to be there in the first place.  Really locked in and enjoyable.  Thank you!!
