This looks good. I hope Danny sees this. A nameplate should be included on all non-DIY speakers. The cost is negligible. You can get custom-engraved nameplates on Etsy for as low as $5 each.

Okay, wow!

Okay, wow!
If the baffles are CNC-machined, I'm sure you can add an indentation to flush-mount the badges.

I have a pair of recently adopted Maine Coons and my biggest fear is those giant monsters jumping on the speakers and knocking them off the stands. They love climbing.

The cat before my current one was a Maine Coon named Mickey.  He was the sweetest cat that I've ever had the pleasure of caring for.  He's been gone for about two years, and I am tearing up just writing about him.  If I have my choice of cats when my Ty passes away, it will be a Maine Coon for sure. Unfortunately, I probably won't have a choice because every cat that I've ever had (7 of them now) has been a rescue, the last 5 being from friends and family who have a way of getting the word out VERY quickly when I have room for another rescue...

Anyway, I have Maggies and I've always worried about my cats climbing up them or using them as scratching pads, but luckily none of them ever have - including Big Boy Mick. Fingers crossed that you are just as lucky.

I had Magnepan 1.7s and one of my boys climbed up it and it was laying on its side when I got home. He was ok and the speaker worked fine.  You can see him sitting on my sub in one pic and here he’s investigating the Allie.

NIGHTFALL, how do you like your new Allies compared to your previous Maggies.

I had my Maggies for 15 years. I loved their openness. When I got the Bully’s I couldn’t believe how much detail and clarity I was missing. It’s harder to describe the sound of the Allies compared to the Maggies. The Allies have a sound that pull you in. Some sounds come out very wide while others sound narrow. I think they will image the way the song was recorded. I don’t think they have the same level of detail resolution as the Bully’s or the crystal clarity. But the sound has a feeling of “rightness “ for lack of a better word. They seem like they give the music a more “emotional “ feeling rather than an analytical one. I feel like I can just listen to them for hours and it kind of sounds like you’re listening to music and not just “recorded “ music. They don’t sound like any other speakers that I have ever heard before. These are definitely something special and different. I really have a hard time deciding which ones I like better. I recently did some a/b comparison of songs between both the bully’s and the Allies and I really can’t decide which one I like better.
I used two Rythmik subs with my 1.7s and I think the Allies have better bass even if you don’t run subs. I don’t think I can replicate the Maggie openness in my room because it’s too cramped. If I could place the Allies where my Bully’s are and maybe a little further apart, I might be able to get more openness. It depends on how much space you have. Note, I think the Allies definitely benefit from more power.

Interesting comparison. Are you running the Allies with a subwoofer?

Yes. 4. Two Rythmik subs (under the towels) and I am using the subs that are in the Bully’s.🤘🤟👍😎
Because you convinced me that 4 are better than 2!

That is really spot on.

I find myself wanting to listen more to Allies and Maddies than any other speakers. They draw you into the music.

Just listened to my new LP of DIO- The Last In Line!

Mastered by Matthew Lutthans. On the Allies, the acoustic guitar at the beginning of L.I.L. Was holographic!
And I have a new love for “One Night in the city“!

Hey rfluongo,
Do you think that I want to OVERDO it? :icon_lol:

Actually, if I can get a wall mounted rack for my 60 in Sony tv, then I could get rid of the tv stand and maybe fit two more panels behind there. The Sonex panel is to the right because the outlet is there. If I can manage to move things around maybe I could move the subs back another six inches. :thumb:

Here's my final cosmetic tweaks.  Given the copper colored phase plug, I used copper screws for those drivers (front and back) and redid the badge with engraving on copper.

And they are sounding great!  I just finished a Bottlehead Moreplay kit project, a 6V6 based preamp, using RCA Jan tubes and upgraded output caps.  In front of my Orchard Audio Starkrimson Ultra monos and the Allies, the experience is at an all time high.  :thumb:

Dig those copper screws.
