I have a pair of recently adopted Maine Coons and my biggest fear is those giant monsters jumping on the speakers and knocking them off the stands. They love climbing.
The cat before my current one was a Maine Coon named Mickey. He was the sweetest cat that I've ever had the pleasure of caring for. He's been gone for about two years, and I am tearing up just writing about him. If I have my choice of cats when my Ty passes away, it will be a Maine Coon for sure. Unfortunately, I probably won't have a choice because every cat that I've ever had (7 of them now) has been a rescue, the last 5 being from friends and family who have a way of getting the word out VERY quickly when I have room for another rescue...
Anyway, I have Maggies and I've always worried about my cats climbing up them or using them as scratching pads, but luckily none of them ever have - including Big Boy Mick. Fingers crossed that you are just as lucky.
