Lord Give it up already on the Moose. We are all going to be sport'n drool cups before Bryston ever comes out with anything on this. Just take your old BDP and turn it into an endpoint for ROON , Ardivarna or some other technology of choice.
My little Pi makes a great ROON endpoint.
So if I turn my BDA-3.14 into a Roon endpoint will that be more stable than the Manic Moose interface? Or will I still need to power cycle the unit from time to time?
I do understand though that this is an issue with the Volumio OEM Pi boards used for the Bryston streamer. I have heard from Volumio streamer users that power cycling their streamers is also something they need to do from time to time.
If the new Bryston streamers use newer, more stable boards, would we be able to take our BDA-3.14s etc to a service tech to get the old boards replaced with the newer? (For a fee, of course. I'm more than happy to pay for a newer, better board.)
I don't want anything fancy. I actually like the utilitarian look of Manic Moose. It does the job just fine.
I just hate having the interface decay over time and having to power cycle it to restore it to full functionality.
One thing I'd like to add to a wishlist for a new version is a more intuitive internet radio function, eg. just plugging in a link to an online stream and adding it to a list of favourites.
