GR Neo 3 Waveguide for open Baffle
« on: 5 Feb 2026, 04:52 pm »
Hey guys,
I am currently experimenting with some OB tweeters in a open baffle design.
I was looking for the printed Waveguide set with the baccup which is of cause not designed for OB.

The Waveguide in the NX Series looks like a 45 degree straight WG and about 1,5" deep I guess.

Does anyone have some info about that or something that I can machine or print into a OB Baffle. I am looking into somethink like the spatial X5 or X3.

I am assuming from the NX Series that the neo 3 works from about 1400hz upwards in fully OB....

Grateful for any info on this.

Thanks so much

Yes this one I was referring to because the site states "We cannot guarantee that the tweeter will work well with other Neo 3 style tweeters, or in an open-baffle application".

Thats why I was asking about the Waveguide used in the open baffle applications of the Neo3

That waveguide wasn't designed for an open baffle application, but with a little crossover help to control the response, it still may work out pretty well.

You also need to make sure that when you use them in an open baffle that you physically align them with the voice coil of your woofers. So there are other variables to consider when using them in an open baffle.

Thanks Danny. Aligning the voice coils is a good hint.
Do you also sell the deeper WGs with the Neo3s? As I understand they are able to be crossed a bit lower than the more shallow WGs used in the NX-bravos....
