Have read today the passing of Bob Weir, Grateful Dead guitarrist at 78 y/o.
With Bob passing Bill Kreutzmann is the only original member live.

I remember my first Dead concert back in the very early 70s.  I thought at the time these guys are way too young to actually be the Dead.  Of course age caught up to us all.  RIP Bob.

Mickey Hart is still alive and has an upcoming show at Carnegie Hall honoring Zakir Hussain (in March)

I grew up in and around Eugene, Oregon. The members often came up and stayed at Ken Kesey's farm west of town. First time I saw them was at a small concert at the U of O Student center ballroom. I had a chance to talk with members when they were setting up. I saw them a number of times at various venues around the state and in San Francisco.
I am so sorry to read Bobby has passed. He carried the torch up until a couple years back. RIP
