Thank you All for your input. You guys are amazing and you are changing my mind I am thinking now of trying servo subs - never thought I would come back to that option.

Is there a significant benefit of using two subs? I assume a double-trouble is sufficient for 13x17 room.

If ever given the opportunity, stereo subs are always beneficial. In my much smaller room, stereo subs really help with room modes and stereo separation. You'd be surprised how easy it is to hear sub placement and uneven room loading, even if crossing pretty low.
