Hi Martin...

Thanks for your input....
Haven't heard from Mike, if we are not all snowed in I'll try calling tomorrow.
"- in the 120V version , the DC suppression network (2 Capacitors, 4 diodes of the 240V version ) is NOT Present"

Starts to get a little more involved and may require pulling out the boards et al and as this unit is almost mint I really do not want to start messing with things.
The Step Up transformer appears to work fine, but it is another device in the chain with an extra 1000 watts in this day of staying green. :green:
Hopefully I'll reach Mike or someone at Bryston to see what are my options are and if it's economically feasible.
But overall happy to be able to acquire one of the later B60R SST C.
Not too sure where it will be going, replace the older one currently with my desk top studio and let that one go or hold onto both, they're such a great solid, versatile Canadian made integrated amplifier.
For now it's with good company. :)

Hi,

Thanks for the update.
IMHO:  Best to leave the 240V -> 120V conversion to the specialists : AKA Mike Pickett's team.

BTW
The 1000W step up transformer does only consume 1000W, if it feeds a large load (say 950W), taking into account that the transformer is not 100% efficient.
So the "Green Argument" does not really hold for not using the Step Up  transformer.

But if you would have converted the Australian  240V B60R professionally (by Bryston) , it could command a higher price in 120V countries.

I think personally that sending it to Bryston Ltd. is not really worth the effort.

Did a no fuss quick and easy hookup, source plugged directly into the B60R with the speakers.
Been running it for a number of hours, sounds excellent, really good staging and depth and all with authority.
No plans on selling.

Hi Martin...

Just to follow up....Bryston can do it but as it would be rather time consuming,  $600 CAN all in, 6-8 wk turn around, think I'll stick with the Step UP transformer.  ....
But Bryston being Bryston they also offered to provide guidance if I was to get a local tech to do it, so that is appreciated.  :thumb:

Hi Robert,

Bryston indeed provides Ace Service!
And Mike Pickett is a most helpful guy.

I knew  It would be time consuming so indeed back to Plan A.
(maybe you can hide the step up transformer, somewhere behind your LP's).

Enjoy your nice B60R Amp!

Yep, Mike has helped me on numerous occasions, surprised he has not retired yet. : )
This B60R may replace the older one from 2001 in the studio so the transformer would hide under a desk, I've yet to decide but I was impressed with the overall performance, gives my 3BSST2 a run for the money.  :thumb:

Cheers
