I recently bought a used Audiolab 6000 CDT. My error, I didn’t look carefully enough to see I also needed à DAC. I’ve always used CD players with their own DACs. But I’m willing to experiment. The APOS Merlin DAC gets some fine reviews, is cheap and is quite small; all of which I like.

Does anyone have experience with this product?

I havent heard that dac.  It was made in conjucntion with Geshelli labs to go with the Apos Gremlin headphone amp.

I would just buy directly from Geshelli Labs as they are here in the U.S. and have great customer service.  Geshelli dac's are well regarded.

I've also watched a couple of positive reviews of the Merlin Dac. The AKM sound signature has always been pleasing to me. If the open design of the case doesn't bother you, I'd give it a try. It should work well for you and be a good conversation piece.

I really like the case. Flies in the face of most audio gear. And as long as it does a good job, I don’t care.

Just looking to have a great two channel system with my Bel Canto eVo integrated.
