Yes, it's that time of year again. Hanging out with friends and family. Yahtzee is a game everyone can play with endless surprises. Sports are boooring and not for everyone. Holiday movies can fill the entertainment gap quite nicely.

Every Christmas out of town friends come for a visit. This year our Christmas movie will be "It's a Wonderful Life"

What does everyone else plan to watch at home over the long weekend? Going out to the movies?

I don't think you can do better than It's a Wonderful Life, my girlfriend has never seen it so we watched it last night.  :thumb:

If you in mood for christmas comedy, I highly recommend 1988 "Scrooged", with Bill Murray and Karen Allen.

I think we are choosing between "The Thin Man" or possibly "The Apartment", both set at Christmas.

  • I reject your music, and substitute my own.
"A Christmas Story". 24 hours of it. It is the best Christmas movie ever.

People say that "Die Hard" is a Christmas movie. Well, "A Christmas Story is the "Die Hard" for kids. It's got guns (Red Ryder), violence (Scut Farkus), and foul language (fudge!).

I always like "Home Alone" starring a young Macaulay Culkin as a Christmas themed movie.

But the film is probably too violent for my gentle friends who prefer "All Creatures Great and Small" and "Downton Abbey"

Last Saturday's "Saturday Night Live" with guest host Ariana Grande has a Home Alone parody in their classic gross-out style

The musical guest was Cher and she looks fabulous.

I live in Jimmy Stewart's home town which looks very much like Bedford Falls.  His boyhood home sits above the town square and we have the Jimmy Stewart museum, Jimmy Stewart Airport, Jimmy Stewart Blvd, and Jimmy Stewart's voice directs you at the crosswalks.  So It's a Wonderful Life is the must watch Christmas move that the local TV plays every Christmas Eve.
