Pricing a modified stratocaster
« on: Today at 05:06 pm »
I am considering selling my strat, ill have to look at my bank acct after holidays...

Here's the issue, I know nothing about guitars so I don't know what it is worth.  I can't just look at comps since it has all these mods.  I do have details and pix.

Can you assist?  Either give me advice or point me to a forum.  I checked out reverb.com, but there's no forum or place to chat.

Here's what tge previous owner said

Selling a recently rebuilt Fender Stratocaster MIM "black label" only available 96-97. Not to be confused with the Squier Series. Refinished in black nitro lacquer. Various dings and imperfections were left for that "roadworn" look. The Poplar body was fully copper shielded and grounded. The chrome hardware was all cleaned and screws function as new. The rosewood neck has minor nicks and imperfections, but minimal fret wear. Very nice chocolatey board with clay vintage dots (actually resembles my '94 Custom Shop). The dual magnet style 90's mexi pickups have plenty of spank. New pots, caps, 5way switch. Basic aged 8 hole, single ply pickguard. Currently setup with Ernie Ball Pink 09-42's.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.

So its not a vintage or famous year, if you are located in USA/Mexico I could say 50% off retail IMO, if you are located in Europe or overseas it will worth more.

Its difficult to evaluate modified guitars.
