My Reference Recording
« on: Yesterday at 02:39 pm »
Back in 2005 I went to a Blue Rodeo Concert at our local Auditorium. I was comparing my then stereo system to the Real Thing by audio memory. I was blown away by what I was hearing and I knew right then and there that my stereo wasn't even in the ballpark.  So I decided to upgrade with Bryston gear as I could afford, took me several years. I'm now in the Ballpark! As my system can mimic the Real Thing, when the volume is cranked approximately 92-95 decibels.
Blue Rodeo may have even recorded this album at this venue because it sounds exactly how I remember it. At this time Blue Rodeo was being played on the radio consistently so I was familiar with about 10 of their songs.
I played this album on my secondary computer with my Yamaha ear buds and it sounded pretty good even on these in 24 bit. On my Bryston system it's over the top at a high spl and I'm back at the concert.
