Just throwing in my 2 cents…..
I’ve had an UberBUSS for a long time. Good stuff.
I will always remember the one time I took it to a friends house and we plugged everything into it. Older house with less than stellar wiring. Was really good.

Then it was time to leave and we unplugged everything. The difference was so obvious. Begged me to leave it.

A few days ago, on another audio forum, Dave posted this: "The BUSSes never had MOVs, unless my customer requested them."

Danny, is surge protection an option customers can request?
I knew there was a device that he built with MOV's.

This version has no MOV's and is not designed for surge suppression.

Also regarding how it is potted. The potting material is a fire retardant material to eliminate damage from lightning strikes.

Danny:
Would love to see you take on the whole BUSS series.
I love my digital version.

+1  I also have a Digi BUSS and like it. I have the media server and network switch for the music room plugged into it.

I will probably need to order and try an UberBuss on my system now.  The never ending quest for better always gets me excited to spend more money.   Has anyone ever directly compared an UBerBuss to a Furman elite 20 amp conditioner?  I own the latter.  I wonder how much more performance is gained/lost comparing power from the Furman vs an UberBuss?  🤷🏼‍♂️.

I went from a Furman PL-8C 15 Amp (lower end model vs what you mentioned) to an UberBUSS.  Not going back.

Glad this is all settled. The UberBUSS is the "bee's knees" of power conditioners. It is the foundation piece of my system. Glad it will continue to be offered and by GR Research!

I'm assuming you can plug the Uberbuss into something like an APC UPS to act as a surge protector/backup power incase of brownouts/power loss?

Since it’s not strictly patented, one modification that might be beneficial would be to add a hydraulic electromagnetic breaker like Shunyata uses on their power strips.

From Shunyata’s description:

Over-current protection is a requirement for today’s high current audio power distributors. The vast majority of manufacturers use an inexpensive thermal fuse or breaker. Both are specifically designed to heat up as the current level rises. This causes voltage drops, increased contact impedance, thermal noise, excessive heat generation and current limiting effects.

There is a better solution — the hydraulic electromagnetic breaker that utilizes low-impedance relays and a sensing coil that reads the current level without heating up or limiting current. They can operate right up the to the maximum current level without heating up or limiting instantaneous current. They are rarely used in competitive products since they cost 10-20 times that of a common fuse or thermal breaker.

Added cost is the only downside.
