AVA Any New Products in the Works?
« on: 2 Dec 2025, 12:04 pm »
Hi,

With the proliferation of streamer all-in-one solution is this the type of product that AVA would consider pursuing? Are there any other products in the wings from AVA in the next year?

It's a bit quiet here so I thought I'd get some interest going.

All the best. Regards Rod

As a long time follower and owner……I sure hope a streamer is not even on the list of possible new products, AVA is a hardware company. To even think about a streamer they will have to hire software people or sub it out. JMO

Gaurantee Mithat is not twiddling his thumbs but this new thing itis some have is not usually the way products improve exponentially. Patience grasshoppers…..😊

This pretty much gets it right. Producing a streamer does nothing to solve the "last mile" audio concerns that AVA is committed to. (I talk more about this here.) In addition, it's not just that software-centric products require different design expertise than hardware-centric ones; it's that software-centric products are a different kind of business altogether. So far, we're not convinced that putting our energies into building a software business is the best way for AVA to get the best sounding audio into your homes.

That said, it would be silly for us to say we'll never do a streamer.

As for other new products, we always have new things in development. They get released when they are ready and we know we can produce them in quantity. I'm looking forward to what 2026 brings. :-)

Hi,
This is Jim from AVA. Thanks for the interest in our equipment. We do have a few new products in the works, but we won't be announcing anything new until around the AXPONA 2026 show, which we will be attending and have a listening room already reserved.

Thanks,
Jim

What a timely thread. I also wasn't sure how Frank's passing would affect product development but I know he's given great credit to Mithat and others for being intimately or even primarily involved in system design for quite a while. I also don't think a streamer is the right way to go, but I was curious if they might try and move into the headphone amp space.

The DVA preamp/dac is at least 2/3 of the way there, and if they could figure out how to drop a bit of power in there to drive headphones I think they'd have a killer product. Ideally it could be a smaller form factor than the full standard component box, but I don't think it needs to be as small as a Rupert Neve of some of the smaller Schiit products either.

More and more of my generation and younger primarily listens via headphone rather than a full hifi set up. It could help capture a bigger audiophile audience. Also more and more people work from home, etc and a desktop friendly solution with than can drive the full range of sensitive and/or harder to drive planars would be in demand for the higher end audiophiles.

Personally I think AVA's comittment to quality/bullet proof builds and no-nonsense engineering based design philosophy places them well to create one of the best performing full range headphone amps on the market.
