I hope he's able to sort it out.. I've had my own bouts with hum in some of my systems over the years, it's never pleasant..

The unit is en route to Verty, should arrive next week.

Just a quick update on this, thanks to the excellent support from Vista and Verty, I got a new replacement preamp in the mail.

Glad to hear that everything worked out well! Due to extended holidays Verty could not make a quick turnaround, so this was the best way to handle it. I am still curious to hear from Verty what did they find, when they get to it.
