Railway Empire 2

Downloaded Railway Empire 2 last night from Steam, haven't played it yet. I wanted to play Railway Tycoon 3, which I own but could not find disc 1 to load the game. Since the game is no longer compatible with my computer anyway I thought I would look for another game similar and found Railway Empire. From reading reviews I was about to purchase Railway Empire 1 and then I saw 2 which looks even better.
Having played Railway Tycoon 3, I progressed fairly far into the game, so I figure this game is for me.
Having retired my mind is wasting away so I gots to do something to slow the deterioration. I have other games downloaded like Need for Speed, Total War, Chess, Civilization 1,3 and 6, but I can't motivate myself to play them. So I'm hoping this game will do it for me.

In this game you are trying to build your Railway Company by building railway lines to cities and raking in profits hauling goods. Then as you progress, buy out or merge with other companies to become filthy rich. Takes planning, careful thought as where to build and locomotives to use, etc..

Update:
I'm still in the tutorial phase as it's important to get the mechanics of the game down so as to not run into problems later in a game.
Issues that I'm having is my Gamepad or mouse. Gamepad seems too sensitive when trying to activate menus or lock on to items on the map. With the mouse I seem to have a Double Click problem but could not find a virus with virus scan so I think the button is just wore out and I need a new wireless mouse.
Also still not sure which menu I need to open for tasks. Watched a Youtube video on a tutorial and person was having the same issues that I'm encountering but from him I'm learning the solution.
From what I can tell so far is the game is much like Railway Tycoon 3. Building a rail line is more detailed however, but building things like Post Offices, hotels, etc. is done automatically as a city grows in size. City supply is also more detailed to be successful so I need to become smarter in that area.
That's why this game is not for everyone. Some Gamers may find this too tedious and boring, realism is not always better in making a game playable. You have to like that kind of thing.
Lots of scenerios to play so not short in that area. Should be fun once I get past tutorial.
