All speakers have some limitations. For the statement lineup I thought they sounded pretty good as an all-around speaker for both home theater and for music. The limitations I encountered were tweeter dispersion and midrange performance. They have excellent horizontal dispersion virtually no vertical dispersion. Unless you’re sitting down in the butter zone, they don’t sound their best. I thought that the mid range drivers were a little bit small. They lacked the visceral impact of dynamic instruments like snare drums. I felt they just didn’t give me that visceral pop that I really was looking for in a live performance. They excelled in bass response and overall versatility with home theater. I feel they were a good value. I used them primarily for home theater. Once I started getting more into stereo music, I thought I needed to move to something that offered something more. Thats when I started building open baffle speakers.
