How Calculate Woofer Volume Box With TS Parameters

Required parameters:
Fs - resonance frequency (Hz)
Qts - woofer total quality factor
Vas - air equivalent volume in Liters.
F3 - lower cutoff frequency (Hz), usually considered as 0.707 * Fs

Complete formula:
V = Vas / (Qts^2 * (Fs / F3)^2)

V =  box volume in Liters.

There are 3 types of box volumes:
Minimum
Medium or Ideal
Maximum

The final result of this formula is the Medium volume.
I would avoid say that its the ideal value.
To the minimum value subtract 30%.
For the maximum value add 30%.

Simpler formula:

V = Vas / (Qts^2)

This formula is an approximation and may not be as precise as the complete formula. After the calc verify if the result is reasonable for the woofer type and application.

Ex.:
Suppose you have a woofer with the following parameters:
- Fs = 40 Hz
- Qts = 0.5
- Vas = 20 liters

Using the simplest formula:  V = 20 / (0.5^2) = 80 liters

Remember that this is an approximation and the actual volume may vary depending on the woofer design and application.

It is important to note that the woofer volume is only one of the factors affecting the sound system's response. Other factors such as the crossover frequency, sensitivity, and power of the woofer, are also important to consider when designing a loudspeaker.
