All film buffs know the name Ray Harryhausen, he was one of the pioneering artists of stop-motion animation and creator of many of the creatures in films from 1949 to 1977.

From the collection of the Ray & Diana Harryhausen Foundation in Edinburgh, Scotland, The Mini Time Machine Museum is honored to present a distinguished selection of miniature armatured models from Ray Harryhausen's most iconic films.

The new exhibit at The Mini Time Machine in Tucson, AZ has 130 works from 16 films including:

    Earth vs. the Flying Saucers (1956)
    First Men in the Moon (1964)
    It Came from Beneath the Sea (1955)
    Jason and the Argonauts (1963)
    Mighty Joe Young (1949)
    Mysterious Island (1961)

    Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger (1977)
    The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953)
    The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973)
    The Mother Goose Stories (1946)
    The 3 Worlds of Gulliver (1960)
    The Valley of Gwangi (1969)
    The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958)
    20 Million Miles to Earth (1957)

Arizona Spotlight has a short podcast about the creature exhibit along with interviews with Harryhausen’s daughter Vanessa, and the curator of this one-of-a-kind collection, Connor Heaney. I discovered that these miniatures are the actual creatures seen on screen. Harry and the film crew made these models look huge.
