EVS Music Purifiers
« on: 4 Oct 2025, 06:32 pm »

At first I was skeptical but the improvements were easily audible and immediate. No need to burn anything in. Improvements include better separation, focus and a mid range and top end that are both cleaner and smoother with greater depth.
Background vocals are farther back, very focused and easier to understand.
I bought 2 pairs of Music Purifiers and they are  the best money I've put into the system in a very long time. Ric is currently including Ground Enhancers at no additional charge (haven't tried them yet).
The MPs are more effective on some types of speaker cables than others but Ric does offer a money back guarantee. You can't go wrong.
Mine, they will definitely stay right where they are.

Interesting looking do-dads. Thanks for the review. What speakers and electronics are you using?

I have been using the EVS Ground Enhancers for 14 years, I like what they do. I removed the Ground Enhancers for my Hapa Torsion Speaker Cable review:

"I discovered that without the ground enhancers the sound was firmly anchored between the speakers, music sounded just like everybody else's stereo - boring. So I put the enhancers back on."

"The most noticeable change is greater separation. Instruments and voices are more delineated in space. Music that seemed to be clumped between the speakers is now spread out: left, right, and center with individual musicians easier to pick out. With a wider sound stage there is also more depth, the area between the speakers opens up quite nicely."

I think the EVS Ground Enhancers work best if your setup is already fine tuned and working perfectly. The effect is most noticeable from the sweet spot, they don't change the tonality of the music so the spacial enhancement is less noticeable when seated off-center. I have used the Ground Enhancers on two different speakers and the results were exactly the same. My current Salk HT2-TL speakers disappear so the Ground Enhancer effect is really noticeable. My room is setup for both stereo and home theater so there is a center speaker under the TV. Every time I demo the stereo guests always ask if the center speaker is turned on because my setup has a 3-D center image, of course the center speaker is always off.

I have used the Ground Enhancers for many years.  I moved them to a secondary system when I got the Music Purifiers. Both are affordable and good tweaks for the money.

Any suggestions for hooking up Music Purifiers to the GR Research tube connectors?

Oh wow I posted in that thread. 15 years has gone by, and I couldn't even tell you where the enhancers are. LOL

I haven't tried the EVS purifiers. But as far as plug in speaker tweaks go, I like the Bybee speaker bullets. Although they're pricey. For internal speaker tweaks, I like the Lessloss Firewall for Speakers modules.

This is an interesting product.  The only problem is that I have Maggie LRS's with those incredibly frustrating speaker terminals. Does anyone here have experience using these with bananas on Maggies? (I'm guessing that they would work fine with bare wire speaker cable ends.)

I used JBL Studio 570 speakers and either a Reisong A10 or FU 19 amp.
From the amount of improvement it seems the speaker cables were picking up a lot of junk. The system is bi wired with Western Electric 16 ga and Pinetree Audio.

There are several inexpensive banana plug types that will accept a second banana plug. (piggy backed if you will) In this case you'd secure the EVS on the first set and simply plug your fixed banana plugs into the back of the set with the EVS's.

I haven't heard of these, but I'll do some investigating when time permits.

Thanks, Mick!

I believe the Monoprice banana plugs offered on Amazon are one of many that will get the job done.

KLE banana plugs do the same if looking something higher quality and low mass option.
