A new Chapter for AVA
« on: 3 Oct 2025, 05:45 pm »
I wanted to personally share some exciting news: after many wonderful years with Audio by Van Alstine, I’ve decided to retire and relocate to warmer weather. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m deeply grateful for your support and loyalty over the years.

While stepping away is bittersweet, I know AVA is in capable hands and poised for an exciting future. I’ve attached a press release with more details.

Thank you again for being part of the AVA family. It’s been an honor to serve you.
Warm regards,

Mary Staples

Congrats on the retirement Mary.  You will be missed.  Please let the team know that I am always available to do reviews for any new equipment.

Congrats.  I retired twice.  I went back to work for medical insurance after retiring for 6 years.  When I retired for the second time (after almost 6 more years of working and I carried the insurance into retirement), I moved to warmer weather.

Hi Mary.

If not too personal, can you share your best choices for warmer weather? Coming from a Canuck in the soon to be frozen north.

Best of luck on your  retirement, Mary.
I always enjoyed talking with you while placing orders, or just answering questions about current products.
Your helpful attitude with customer service was a real asset to AVA.
Your rest is well earned.

Thank you for the kind congratulations. I should clarify that I’ve used the word retire a bit broadly. While I am indeed relocating to warmer weather, I’m not retiring in the traditional sense—I'm simply stepping back to take time for myself.

Over the past 3½ years, I’ve experienced the profound loss of five of the most important people in my life, each of whom I was with in their final moments. These experiences have deeply impacted me and made it clear that I need time to heal and reflect.

With that in mind, I’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to step away from day-to-day responsibilities at Audio by Van Alstine. Frank's legacy and this company deserve to be led with the energy, passion, and focus that I currently cannot give.

I’m incredibly proud of the new leadership team we’ve put in place. They bring fresh energy and a clear vision that I believe will take AVA to the level it truly deserves. There are exciting things ahead for Audio by Van Alstine, and I look forward to watching and supporting from a different vantage point.

Thank you again for your support during this transition.

Best wishes for balmy weather wherever your time off for rest & reset takes you. Thanks for the help you've always provided when I called with a question and Frank wasn't available. It's always been a pleasure. Be well and don't forget the sunscreen.     JD

Mary, my deepest condolences on all of your losses - five in 3-½ years is crushing.

Like others have said, you have certainly earned the break. Best wishes for R&R now, and whatever comes next in this "retirement" of yours.

AVA will be fine. Not exactly the same, but such is life.  I'm confident that you have helped to set the company up for much continued success.
