I’m also a loyal Bryston customer and really value their products — I own a BDP-3, a BDA-3, and a B135.
Still, I think it’s unfair to blame users for the end of the BDP-3. The feedback about Manic Moose or the lack of updates wasn’t unreasonable — it simply reflected a need for proper software support.
Loving a brand doesn’t mean ignoring its weaknesses. Bryston’s hardware is excellent, but many users were rightly frustrated by the stagnant software.
It wasn’t impatience that caused the issue, but internal priorities and costs.
That said, I still use Manic Moose, and it meets my needs just fine.
