Front baffle edge diffraction
« on: 4 Sep 2025, 12:24 am »
Good day to all. My question is in regards to an NX-Otica build. I would like to use a laminate for the sides. I plan to have the front edge reach the joint where the front baffle and side pieces are joined.
The laminate material is 0.7 mm thick. At this location would the lip there cause any edge diffraction? My guess is that it is far enough away from the front surface to be okay but I wanted to check.
Thank you in advance.

The lip will add a small edge diffraction, but you will not be able to hear it, even near field.

You could add a 5mm black felt to the front baffle as the vintage Duntech 2001.
