7B-SST2 with minor issue
« on: 30 Aug 2025, 08:57 pm »
I have a pair of 7B-SST2 amps I purchased new in 2009, listened to for 2 years, then got some different amps.  I had the Brystons on a shelf until a month ago, fired them up and they sound good.  No problem on start up, no noise from amps, and music sounds great--have had them playing a few times. Problem is, when I switch one of the amps off, there is a very short blip of static through that speaker--not loud, not damaging to speaker. This occurs even when no preamp or CD player is hooked up.  I have plugged amps directly into the wall, then have placed an inductive transformer in between wall and amps to see if that made a grounding difference--no change.  Any ideas? Thanks!

Have sent an email to Mike Pickett, and then resent it---can't seem to get a reply.  Is he unavailable for awhile?
