....I love it. He traded Micah Parsons, in his prime, to the Packers for a 30 year old defensive lineman, and two 1st round draft picks in '26 and '27 that will be late in the 1st round.

What an absolute botch job. Dallas has to be reeling right now. Luka Doncic last winter to the Lakers, now Parsons. I am looking forward to the Cowboys season absolutely going off the rails.

I was concerned that he would end up in Detroit but GB is ok. I don't think he is going to put GB in the SB, but obviously he will change how opponents game plan for their defense. However, if the Lions got him, and I believe that they had more cap space than GB; I think you could have penciled them in the SB today. Hutchison on one side and Parsons on the other would have been a nightmare for the whole league.
Maybe Dallas could have gotten a better return than one starter and two 1st Rd draft picks (probably late picks, but you never know), but they were never going to get a "H.Walker" deal. The flip side is that the cowgirls now have four 1st Rd draft picks in the next 2 yrs and that's not too terrible

Lastly, I know that Parsons played in cold weather at Penn St, but I do wonder how well he'll hold up playing in the really cold weather in GB...heated field or not, it can get real cold up there

Well said. Jones has proven to stick with coaches and qb's to long. Tony Romo was never going to get to a SB, nor will Prescot. His best decision was hiring Jimmy Johnson, his worst, letting him go. My three fav teams are the Broncos, and whoever is playing the Raiders and Cowboys.

P.S. That said, $47m/year -- if the number is real and not inflated for publicity purposes -- is too high for Micah. Or any non-top 5 QB. Fine for 2025, but when some of the GB rookies want/expect to get paid, there will be some hard decisions to make. Absolute NFL truism: when you pay more than one player on your team above-market rates....bad things ensue, and your contention window starts to close.

Green Bay may have made a mistake giving him $136m in total guarantees over 4 years. I have a feeling you are correct in your assessment. The NFC north division is not happy today.

Dallas will be better in the long run. Parsons was paid way too much and GB is going to be hamstrung for cash to keep players. Dallas got a good player in return and 2 first round draft picks.

FireGuy: I guess only time will tell. I have a feeling he understood that Jones isn't about winning anymore, he's about entertainment. The Cowboys are not "America's" team anymore, and in my eyes never were. The 70's Steelers were just better.

Did anyone watch the Netflix piece on Jones and the Cowgirls? An inside look at what a lucky moron this guy is. He's no great businessman or entrepreneur, he got lucky on an oil prospect right before he was about to go bankrupt. He used that money to buy the Cowgirls, which is like printing money. He got lucky on that deal as well, it fell into his lap. He made a good move hiring Jimmy Johnson, then a few years later made the dumbest move by firing him. And he's been a moronic pariah since then. Now the dumbest deal of his pathetic career as head of the Dallas team. Trading the arguably best defensive player in the league, a game changer every single game, for two low round lottery tickets and an aging good player will become the dumbest thing Jerry the Clown has ever done. One bright light from the documentary that I wasn't aware of, Jerry won a national championship as a lineman for Arkansas in 1965 playing next to Jimmy Johnson.

There seems to be a misconception that winning, including Superbowls, will make the franchise more valuable. It won't. It's not necessary to win for the value to increase. Just look at Washington and their former owner Dan Snyder, truly an idiot, and yet a billionaire. It's Jones and his carnival barker show that keeps attention on the team that increases the value. Every time he stirs the drama pot and gets the nation talking about the team on radio and television the value increases. Over paid players just take more money away from the value.

Same deal with Luka. That contract would have killed the Mavs. Luka is yet another player who should have been in the discussion with the greats of all time but doesn't appear to have the motivation to get there. He wasn't going to carry the Mavs to the promised land. Great trade, I think. Perhaps it will motivate him to greatness.

Having watched both shows, I gained respect for the cheerleaders and lost respect for both Jones and Johnson.

Now, Green Bay landing Parsons hurts me in two ways - the Lions didn't get him AND now we have to line up against him at least twice a year. OUCHx2!
