HARP was discovered through Gabriel’s research into ‘current drift’ and audio frequency current resonances that occur in speaker cables. Theoretically, a speaker cable may develop current resonances in the audio band, being roughly analogous to standing waves (modals) in room acoustics. The ‌‌HARP module acts as a current mode diffraction device that breaks up these resonances, improving the perceived resolution and coherency of the system.

Here's a snippet of a Shunyata speaker cable review with HARP technology:

HARP is also contained in a small, network-like box, but it too is not a network. In fact, HARP does not alter the frequency response or transfer function of the cable in any way. It does not change measurable capacitance, inductance, or resistance. So how does it work? As with KPIP, Shunyata shares very little about the workings of HARP. I can tell you, with great certainty, though, that HARP is highly effective in improving the overall performance of the system. I heard A/B/A demos of a HARP prototype in systems at the Shunyata facility in Poulsbo, Washington, a while back, and was astonished by how much across-the-board improvement HARP made to even a modest system used in one of the demos. It was as if the entire system’s performance were enhanced in every regard—tonal purity, image focus, dynamic precision, soundstage, and resolution of detail and timbre. It is best applied as close to the speaker as possible; thus, the HARP unit is positioned near the speaker terminal end of the speaker cable.

I am usually skeptical about any “cure-all” audio product, but I have never heard another audio technology applicable to any system with freestanding speakers that qualifies as an unambiguous improvement, rather than a subtle amelioration, or a different flavor, of limited efficacy and only in particular systems. Caelin Gabriel explained some of the “current drift” physics theory behind HARP to me, but I would only butcher his words if I attempted to summarize them—and most likely generate deriding letters from physicists in the process. Let me repeat, HARP is remarkably effective in the overall improvement of the system in which it’s implemented. Shunyata is on to something, here.

It would be interesting to hear Harp applied to the NX line up, as a completed build. Evidently, Danny isn't interested with incorporating harp separately, as a upgrade option with his DIY products.

Gullible American market? Lol! The most tweaks I've seen in a system (by far) was during my recent move to SE Asia. I have friends in India and Singapore that have more money in tweaks than the cost of their actual system! I appreciate all you do around here FullRangeMan, I really do, but those type of comments are not cool.

Sorry folks. You guys dont count, yous are experts, experienced audiophiles.
The average joe thinks low sensitivity speakers and power amps with a dozens of output transistors are great, not to mention IEC power plugs, expensive cables and six figures loudspeakers.

Currently loudspeakers must be 2-way pocket monitor, if a speaker dont have good looking with a beautiful wood laminate, it will not sell. Sound quality no longer matters when it comes to selling, what matters is appearance.

What's wrong with buying speakers based primarily on their appearance, and paying a premium for it? For those of us with wives, aesthetics is often the most important consideration.
