Wow, the $600 dynamic HE R9 headphone going for $80! I'd imagine the people who bought it at full retail are pissed, while folks looking for something like that now are overjoyed. HiFiman does this all the time, they did it with the HE 400i cutting a $500 phone to $160, destroying any resale value. I'm thinking about grabbing this deal, I've been wanting to add another closed back phone.Edit: Okay, maybe not after reading reviews. Universally, from all reviewers, they suck. They say not worth it at the discounted price, better options at $79. In fact I can't remember ever reading such damning reviews of any audio product, and I'm a big fan of HiFiman products. Oh well, the other two look like nice products.
I actually sold my hifiman for more than I bought it years ago, but I was hoarding an original HE-6 which is perhaps the most sought after model from their "vintage" lineup.
Do you think the new HE-6SE have the same sound as the vintage HE-6 ?https://store.hifiman.com/index.php/he6se-579.html
No, there was a certain magic to the original HE-6 which the HE-6SE doesn't quite capture despite their claims.
