Hi All!
After a 35+ year hiatus from HiFi I decided to get back into it.  In researching the hobby I ran across GR Research and liked the idea of upgrades to take your existing speakers to the next level over purchasing new.

I purchased a pair of Emotiva XB2’s and would like to pull a bit more clarity from them.  I've watched a few of GR Research Videos and thought about getting the crossover upgrade kit for them.  I know how to solder but I’m unfamiliar with electrical schematics and the nomenclature used.  Does the schematics have a pic with the parts in a recommended setup or is there info somewhere that will help me understand how to read them?  I need to add more skills to my DIY capabilities :thumb:

Thanks!
Jeff

The kit will come with everything you need and I can walk you through every aspect of it to make sure you understand how to assemble the upgrade.

Hi Jeff, welcome!  You are not alone, but when you look at the schematic and watch this video, it may help you see what is going on.

Also, the speaker in this video (Encore), if you decide build another speaker - that is a "must own" 2-way.  All time classic.

The other thing... see here for work by Frederick Del Rosario: https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=181739.100

Frederick is very modest, and for as pristine as his work is, he's an even nicer guy.  I consider him a good friend, as I know others do too.

For not a lot of money, they can be "perfect" and he can give you tips for install, etc., as well.  I don't know if he's worked on the Emotiva, but I know a lot of people send him speakers for him to do the upgrade, so he's been inside quite a few.  In fact, some people order brand new speakers and have them shipped straight to Federick for upgrade install!

Hey, they're gonna sound better... might as well start off on the right foot.
