I just want to add some more about myself...
I go by Rowdy. I'm nearly 70 years old and live in Palm Springs. I enjoy most types of music. I'm the youngest of 10 and have 6 older sisters, so I grew up listening to whatever they were listening to in the 1950s. But even before that...
My parents would play their old wax 78s on my mom's Victrola! Old music from the 1930s and the 40's, it was grand! My dad had The Mills Brothers and Louie Prima. My mom would listen to Maria Callas and some Mexican corridos.
It was a virtual cornucopia of music! My sisters bought 45s of Elvis (much to the chagrin of my parents) and Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Bill Haley and the Comets... and on and on. As each sister came of age their taste for music grew too. From Frank Sinatra to Perry Como, Tom Jones, Paul Anka to Herman's Hermits to the Rolling Stones.
We also listened to Mexican music and country western, being from Texas. So, my appreciation for music has always been broad and varied. Young in life, I also lived in the New Orleans metro area so I was exposed to the Cajon/Creole style of music.
I would say that I've been blessed with a very unique experience regarding music.
That's a little more about me.
