Any plans on GR Research making USB Cables?  Does anyone know of a good USB cable?

Outside of GR cables, there are several good people making good products on this board. Personal run in my system is Hapa Aero USB.

I own this cable and it is good for the price.  An even better sounding cable is this Ghent for 1/2 the price.  My son uses it and it beat out a lot more expensive cables in his system.  It is smoother and more detailed sounding.  My personal cable is a WW starlight Platinum.  lt is awesome sounding.  But it is $600 per meter.  I bought mine used for 1/2 price.

This is also a great sounding USB cable if you don't want to spend big dollars especially with the Canadian conversion rate and the always present discount codes.  I've owned one for about four years and it has worked well in any system I tried it in.  OCC copper with quality connectors.

I have the same USB cable, but I don't use much USB and haven't compared it with anything.  It does seem to be just fine and is well made.

I am accumulating a fool loom of Shunyata Theta. Currently I have speaker and XLR.

I would try anything in Shunyata Theta... it's my understanding it is specifically targeted at the "top copper cables" (fill in that blank).

For instance, recently I sold a pair of Cardas Clear Speaker and 2x Cardas Clear XLR - kept the Theta.

The Theta stuff sounds "Analog"... makes me forget about cables, and time.

Here are some pics of the Audio Sensibilities USB...

Jack, how would you characterize the sound of this cable?  I am in the market for another usb cable and I do not want to shell out another $350 for a used WW Platinum.  I do not like bright.  The Platinum is smooth as silk, very organic sounding and detailed.  It has a hint of warmth.  I have a few other cables like an AQ Carbon (way over priced for its mediocre performance), WW Starlight Red (which is just awful sounding in my system) and an Oyaide which is good for the price but nothing special.

Larry

The AS USB cable is slightly on the warm side of neutral but with no lose of detail.  It bested other lower priced cables from Supra, Oyaide, Wireworld, Straightwire and others.  To my ears it even bested Pete's first generation cable in my systems.  Does it equal my Tubulus Concentus or Inakustik Reference no, but it doesn't give up that much for a lot less money.  A good middle ground OCC Silver cables is the Lavricable Ultimate at around $165 ex VAT.

To my ears it's more of a "lush and romantic" cable kind of like a late 50's to early 60's Mullard tube.  Depending on which speaker you finally decide to keep it might be more than you want.  I've used it though in two different systems both in Florida and in South Carolina and in certain combinations it was the best USB cable.  It's a much more popular brand on Head-Fi as they specialize in upgraded cables for headphone systems. As with everything else coming from the EU now the price fluctuates daily.  I paid less than the current price two years ago plus no tariff.

Sounds like my kind of cable.  That is the sound that I like. I will definitely consider it and the other usb cable.

My personal cable is a WW starlight Platinum.

I had the WW Starlight Platinum 7 USB cable, which did have that special all-silver serene resolution.

The USB cable I use now is also all-silver with similar sound signature at much less price, but I'm afraid the price will skyrocket once the Chinese de minimus tax exemption expires at the end of August :duh:

I ordered the Xangsang silver usb cable for $99 plus $18 tariff with free shipping.   I have read nothing but good things about this cable.  I will report back when I get it which could be 1 month, hopefully much sooner.
