Not quite on topic: My BDP-3 stopped working and went to the Dutch representative of Bryston. I just received the outcome of their efforts. They say that my device seems to have a problem related to the motherboard, and are involved with the Bryston engineers how to solve this, since the motherboards for the BDP-3 are not available anymore. They offer me the choice of buying a new one (reduced price) or wait for the solution the Bryston engineers will come up with.
Now, coincidentally, in this thread I read that James mentioned the lack of the motherboard availability and that Bryston is looking for alternatives. So, my question is, will waiting for this be worth while? I can imagine that the modern motherboards have added advantages (not running that hot, better CPU-performance, NVMe ssds). I am prepared to be patient if these added bonusses are within reach for me...
