4B3 production
« on: 28 Jul 2025, 02:09 pm »
After a chat with Chris a while back about the sad state of my ancient 4B, I ordered a new 4B3 from my usual dealer on July 3. I'm hoping that maybe James can give me an update on when this is likely to be built and shipped. For come of us, patience can be a real struggle!

James, maybe everyone is ordering new Bi200's?!

Sometimes I wonder if our high end world is going full circle and audiophiles are finding that really good Class AB amps and preamps are preferrable over Class D.

I’d walk right up to that manager’s office, and I’d kick that fucking door right in, and I wouldn’t even knock.
Then I’d grab him by that fucking $30 tie that he wears to work every single day, and I’d pull him up real close and say…
“You can take a long, hard suck on my arse!”

What is going on is that your good reputation as a company is paying off in good will.  8)

Because of the Covid19, I have waited 6 months, for my Bryston gear to arrive, but it was absolutely worth a wait.

If you're in a hurry, you can order an amp from Audio Adviser, or Moon Audio with next day shipping. Looks like they're in stock.

If you're open to a used 4b3, there's one listed in the classified section here.

Thanks for this. I'm not in a hurry - just impatient. It should land at my local dealer soon.

@ James Tanner

James, how many employees does Bryston have now, give or take? I know that Bryston is a part of a larger group so likely, some employees work for all the companies within that group.

Also, if you know, can you tell me if Magnum Dynalab has moved all of its production to Dwight t00? I've been admiring their FM tuners for many years and have been looking for a reliable source of information and whom to contact. Any thoughts?

All the best, as always,
Antun

About 40 currently but looking for more given the uptick in sales.
Yes MD is now in Dwight but getting production sorted and deciding on what makes sense given todays market has been problimatic.

Got it! Thanks James!

Any particular job descriptions you're looking for?

There’s not much I wouldn’t do for a 230V BDA-2 in black, and a matching B60/BR2 remote.

Well, anything you can do to persuade Bryston to restart production of the B60 will be greatly appreciated heh heh!

One on eBay UK right now for £771.68 - with the very rare remote, grrrrr.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/177223996874?_skw=bryston&itmmeta=01K1JQXN1EJJWEZS3B77230K7W&hash=item29435f95ca:g:OM0AAOSwGuJoSFYJ&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA4FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1dxvYyVumnO0YgCjD8WNZMY4pYkWV70C1P56n--CB1H2FpIam2wPLkGjOMiW0aJCEng9GSaJIpD7svuMvTphwR%2Fw6Mug%2FYpW6fQMIfINh1RpkV7IysMqZ8DZTO6l509WdA37hpbzNdSW66xOLgicbeMrdXv66V3EHABNsGA3WK229TT1IVVdZhqViTRKwUxO8YrmenSfoTHfn8XBBSjpQRq97fsO0onE6jZrOVdpR3t3v8Y0RIKxaGyq51fhe8zPoe6c1aOWQeoXOLPCILZvlNL%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR_rQ9teMZg

At that price, it’s worth considering having it shipped over, but first be sure to confirm the power-supply can be internally changed to 110V.  I know the BDA-2 can. About one hour’s labour, with $5 of parts.

Hi Antun - yes the B60 was very popular but just got to pricy for most coatomers given the power and feature set.

Hi James!

Yes, there's something to be said about simple two-transistor-per-channel amplifiers. They sound very special. I will forever regret not buying the B60 while it was still in production.

It is also important to say just how few truly no-compromise amplifiers there are. I mean, Bryston made one - just one - 60W integrated. If you buy from someone else, typically, they'll have a few or several, built to different price point. You guys went all out with the B60.

And I don't buy one...

All the best,
Antun

No time like the present Antun…
I love my BP6, and the headphone out is quite respectable with 400ohm headphones, if you present decent level to the inputs.

Price reduction on this one with rare remote…
