One of the jazz greats.
Well, he's not on my top 100 list, but I enjoyed his work.

I had a coworker always sneak Chuck into a playlist at least once a week, just to see if we were paying attention. Couldn't help but laugh and hum along.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

RIP, I listened to him the 70's.  He was on the radio in NYC all the time back then.  I even bought one of his albums.

RIP, I'm a longtime fan and listened to Chuck on FM and vinyl more times than I got fingers and toes (and I still got all of 'em!).

There was a lot of buzz in the 70s that his music was the future, a jazz/pop/rock fusion, in the same vein and Chicago, BS&T, etc. It didn't really happen on a larger scale, though. IMO, the chops required to write and play this music was well beyond your typical rock band, and their teen audience didn't care so much about the intricacies anyway.
I liked it a lot in the day, though and still do. Thanks for the enjoyment, Chuck.
