Introduction

Hello, Wingback here, I’m an Audioholic. I’m new to this forum. I was delighted to find it this morning while looking for information on 6SN7GT Aikido based line stage kits or Gerber files for same. Have built various tubed and SS projects over the years. I’m also a very amateur speaker builder, currently biamping/active crossover, my version of Zilch’s E-wave, considering a modified Onken project w/ JBL123s/075s. I’m a longtime fan of Thorens Turntables, have owned most of the models, TD 124, TD 125, etc.. Currently rebuilding TD-160, w/ TD145 backup. Fan of Shure Cartridges, have a half dozen or so, but currently running my favorite V15 III w/ Jico SAS. Have been collecting LP’s for 4 1/2 decades, Jazz, Blues, R&B, Soul, Rock(RIP Ozzie), Classical etc. Thank you all for allowing me to join the fray! Best Larry

Dang! 3 weeks and nobody even said HI?

HI!!!

Things don't move very fast here, but other than that, it's a great place.

I'm a newbie, as well. I've been listening to vintage gear since before it was vintage, and usually had a system made up of other people's leftovers and orphan gear. Over the last couple of years, I built an all new simple system of separates to play vinyl. Darlington Labs MP8B, and SU-7 MC head amp, handle the phono preamplification, an Odyssey Audio Candela preamp, and Odyssey Khartago power amp, drive a pair of first-gen KLH Kendalls. I like vintage DD tables, currently a Denon DP-1700, wearing an Ortofon MC X30. After 40+ years, this is the sound I've been looking for. Now, it's all about acquiring even more LPs!

OK, and maybe a pair of Maggy LRS+ panels. Cats make that a risky proposition, however.

Welcome to the Circles!!   jed

Dang! Let me welcome you to the circle. I wish I had the skills to DIY audio gear, but I was never exposed to it. Maybe someday I will have the time to learn it while building a simple kit and go from there. Sounds like you have a nice set up. I didn’t hop into vinyl until 2012, but I have around 1000 records now. My wife bought me an ultrasonic cleaner that can clean 10 records at a time, so I am cleaning and organizing the collection now.

Hope you stick around and meet some of the great people. The traffic has slowed over the years, but there are still a lot of great folks.
