Douk Audio A5 amp not working?
« on: 17 Jun 2025, 03:15 pm »
Have you ever used a subwoofer with the A5 using the AUX OUT? I tried using a y splitter to my Rythmik subwoofers and my GR-Research Bully’s with long interconnects and the bass was overwhelming! The attenuator would not work. I played “Stairway to Heaven “ and my bass drivers looked like they were going to fly across the room!  Is there something that I am hooking up wrong? Anyone else have this problem? I need to know if my A5 needs to be replaced before I can’t return it.

Yes, my friend, that aux out is full line level signal.  You need to use a passive attenuator or send the aux out to a preamp and then to the Rythmik (assuming the sub has a plate amp of it's own) to control and balance the sub with your mains.

Does this help?

OOPS!
Just read this in the eBay ad
2. The speaker output, AUX and 3.5mm headphone jack output work at the same time, and the volume/treble/bass of the three outputs are controlled simultaneously.

So if you are not getting volume control on the aux out then I would say something is wrong with your unit.

Thanks for the info. I’ll have to get an exchange.
