Arizona Blue Cactus Opinions
« on: 10 Jun 2025, 06:43 pm »
I recently (actually Jan) purchased some AZ Blue Cactus 0.047 uf capacitors to use as bypass caps in a CSS TDX build. I've just got around to working on the project/crossovers.  These will be bypassing Jentzen Superior 12uf caps (two in the tweeter circuit, one in the woofer circuit) :duh:

. Asking for opinions as to if 0.047 is in the right ballpark or should I go with a higher value. Also any feedback on how these sound would be appreciated. Oh, one last thing, when wiring the crossover I checked the components with a magnet and found that the end cap on these capacitors are highly magnetic. Would this cause any smearing or distortion, etc. Any opinions on how these compare with Miflex, Soniccaps, or Multicap RTX would be appreciated.

Joseph,

Perhaps you did not receive our reply to your concern of defect.

"They are not defective.  The metal nub that is mounted in the glass is magnetic.  I assume you contacted the manufacturer as we make no claims for these capacitors"

What did the manufacturer say?

Remember, all the good reports, and great reviews of these caps are with the same construction.

I know for a fact, you will not hear "any smearing or distortion".  Of course, all caps require burn-in.
