I'm curious to hear anyone's experience with open baffle speakers in a small room? Thanks

In the early 1990s I used the Carver Amazing in a 3.15m x 3.80m room with great success.

I have a pair of Lii Song F15 drivers in hardwood open baffles in a 13.5'x15' listening room they sound great. You need to pull them out from the rear wall by 2-3' to sound best.  I'd suggest treating the rear wall (behind the speakers with diffuser panels if at all possible.

They can work really well in a small room. Not sure how "small" your room is but bring them out from the front wall a couple of feet to get the huge soundstage that the open-baffle can give you (the previous post referred to it as the rear wall. whatever, its the wall you look at while listening). Closer to the side walls and corners will help with bass enforcement. The key is move them around until you get the sound you want.

In my previous house my Spatial Audio speakers were in a room 15x15 and the sound was excellent, surpassed any other speaker I owned.

I have Spatial M4 is a 11 x 14 space, which is one end of a 20 x 14 room.  Sound and stage are excellent - with capable recordings.

I waited anxiously 11 months for my Clayton Shaw Caladans to arrive.  They were destined for my smaller, dedicated listening room (15'x14').   When they got here I broke them in slowly and then tried everything I could, with help from Clayton, to find the magic, but no matter which components I swapped in, or where I positioned the speakers, or what room treatments I used, I just could find the sound I was looking for.  They weren't imaging properly and the upper bass was a tad full.  When I moved them into my larger room (28'x20') the magic happened. They sounded glorious.   Unfortunately my main speakers in the bigger room are Volti Rivals which are to die for and cost 5X the Caladans....so I ended up reluctantly selling the Caladans.  I wish I had another larger room.  In my experience, the Caladan open baffle design needed 4-5' on either side and behind to really come alive. This might not be the case with everyone's room setup or with every open baffle speaker design but it was with mine.
