Hello from Massimoo
« on: 9 May 2025, 02:10 pm »
I'm Massimoo, a long-time audio enthusiast based in Netherlands / Saudi Arabia. Over the years, I’ve built a system that reflects my passion for musicality,  — especially when it comes to classic 60s and 70s recordings and lively Latin, Blues and Jazz.

My current audio setup is as following:

Speakers: Blumenhofer FS2 MK2 with IsoAcoustics Gaia II feet
Amplification: Pass Labs INT-60 and VTL IT-85 Series II (also have a VTL IT-80 MK2 with various NOS tube combinations including Mullard and Phillips XF2)
Digital Front-End: Magna Mano Ultra 3.5 streamer with Farad Super3 LPSU → AudioQuest Vodka (I²S) → Holo Audio May KTE DAC
Vinyl Source: Transrotor Zet1 turntable with SME 309 tonearm, TMD bearing & Konstant Reference controller, fitted with a Hana ML cartridge
Phono Stage: Primare R35
Cabling & Accessories:
Power: Furutech DPS 4.1 & FP-S55N cables
Interconnect: Atlas Arran XLR, Purist audio design Posiedon SE interconnect
Ethernet chain: Matrix Audio isolator + SoTM dCBL-CAT7
Power conditioning: Synergistic Research PowerCell 8, SR atmosphere Level 3
Fuses: SR Master (amp), Purple (phono & streamer)
I’m always exploring ways to fine-tune the synergy between components and welcome discussions on tube rolling, digital tweaks, and room interactions. Looking forward to learning from this community and sharing experiences!

Warm regards,
Mohamed

Welcome to AC!

I’ll bet those Blumenhofer speakers are very nice sounding - very nice. 👍

Funny that you mention interest in room interactions and go into great detail about your gear but fail to describe your room.  My old room was nearly ideal: 8ft x 13ft x 21ft (Fibonacci ratios), well insulated, exterior fiberglass door with weather seal, flexible/insulated/lined ductwork (could barely hear the furnace fan), 3 dedicated circuits feeding 20 amp cryogenically treated hospital grade duplex wall receptacles grounded together but separate from the house (we had our own transformer).  Setup was midfield with speakers 5ft from the front wall and speakers/listening chair in an 8ft triangle.  Added 10 GIK 244 2ft x 4ft absorption panels but they did little good in that room (worked miracles in lesser spaces).

I'd take a good room with a $2000 system over $20,000 worth of equipment in a crummy room.

We recently moved and the new room is too small even for monitors in a mid-field setup.
